I am open minded about transfers: Arsenal Bos

Arsène Wenger will not promise what he can't deliver in the January transfer window.

The Arsenal manager told Arsenal TV Online a few weeks ago that he would enter the market next month to find a replacement for Robin Van Persie after the Dutchman was ruled out for most of the season with ankle ligament damage.

Inevitably, Wenger has been linked with a string of big-name strikers ever since. The Frenchman has rejected every transfer rumour so far and continued to play down his intentions when he faced the media on Tuesday afternoon.

Wenger is not ruling out some transfer activity at Emirates Stadium but he is keen to keep expectations at a realistic level.

"Robin Van Persie is a very, very long-term injury and we are open-minded on the transfer market," said the Arsenal manager.

"But I don't want to promise things that I don't really know I will do at the moment.

"Mainly I am expecting our players to come back [from injury]."
